Meta-narrative

I've decided that a good way to describe my research interests is "the study of the meta-narratives of GIS". This is somehow similar to "the social implications of GIS", however implies a more genealogical approach to unpacking this tool/technique/method/paradigm through a series of contributing narratives of use.
