Nah, 'meta-narrative' just sounds so Intelligent Designy. I caught myself trying to explain my interests today in an email to a colleague:

Specifically I am intrigued by new applications of GIS to address societal problems -- particularly those applications of GIS which are supposedly participatory -- and the socio-political implications for such use. I guess I'm a bit of a cultural geographer at the core (as I'm discovering), interested in power and the sort of political constitutiveness of such techno-(mis)adventures.

Thought that was a useful train of thought. Time will tell.
